Fit for Flight

Pilot Mental Health and Well-being Tool

What is Fit for Flight?

Studies completed by government, civil, and military organizations over the past several years have reported increasing rates of mental illness among pilot populations, along with poor assessment protocols, barriers to help-seeking, stigma, and an overall lack of upstream, whole-person approaches to supporting pilot mental health and overall well-being. These findings have been supported by numerous anecdotal accounts from pilots throughout the aviation sector.

In response to this growing concern, Presage has developed a next generation mental health assessment tool to address both pilot and organizational concerns, risks, and gaps in the well-being safety net. Fit for Flight differentiates itself from other mental health and well-being apps by being the only assessment tool that measures the relationship between mental health risks and the degradation in decision-making and situational awareness.

Fit for Flight is a custom-built tool, co-created directly with client organizations to support the identification and continuous monitoring of aggregate personnel mental health risks. This empowers leadership to deploy proactive and tailored interventions and mitigations, while demonstrating accountability for the risks presented to them. Individuals benefit from rapid feedback on their own well-being, highlighted comparative assessment scores, improved mental health literacy, and support for early intervention if required.
